Weekly progress: CW51-2024

  • finished reading Three Parts Dead, and speed-read through Red Rising by Pierce Brown with both a physical and an audiobook. This really helps to quicken my glacial reading pace. Started reading Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson, but I might still decide to put that on hold and focus on Red Seas under Red Skies by Scott Lynch instead, which is Book 2 in the Gentleman Bastards series. I deeply enjoyed the Lies of Locke Lamora, so I have high hopes for this one. So much for my reading list!
  • Finished Chapter Thirty-Two: Heavenfall. This was a huge and pivotal chapter, and it totaled to 23.000 words, which is currently the longest chapter in the book. It will probably need some shortening, but it was a huge endeavour, and I was stuck on it for a long time.
  • Also finished Chapter Thirty-Three: Wastelands.
  • Added 7300 words to Second Draft.
  • Also, on that note, I passed the 200.000 word mark, which is an insane number for me. I never thought I’d be able to write this much, but the story just keeps evolving. In a good way, I hope. Only a few more chapters to go, though, and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!
